The EMWA conference has ended.
Over 400 medical writers attended the 46th EMWA conference in Barcelona.
At the Opening Ceremony on 1 May, delegates were welcomed by the EMWA President (Abe) and the Conference Director (Slavka). Juan Torrent gave a very interesting presentation on the treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis. He also treated EMWA members to a lighter talk which shed some light on Barcelona's hidden places.
EMWA stalwart, Art Gertel, also gave an exciting insight into writing and polar expeditions(!) in his talk titled, “Shackleton’s Ghost Writer — Are Authorship Standards Always Important?”
John Carpenter presented Geoff Hall Memorial Scholarships to Marisa Granados and Amy Joughin Parr - see the picture slider below. A networking reception was then held and gave everyone a chance to meet up with old friends…and to make some new ones.
A more complete conference report will be published in the near future in Medical Writing.
